Counselling, what is it?
Therapy offers you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and to help you improve things.
take control of
YOUR LIFE.
Sometimes its difficult to express whats on your mind,Through counselling it is hoped that you can find a way to express yourself and make a positive change.

Start talking
START LIVING.
Therapy is a very personal process. Sometimes it is necessary to talk about painful feelings or difficult decisions, so you may go through a period of feeling worse compared to when you started. However, therapy should enable you to feel better in the long-run. If you do experience a period of feeling worse, talk to your therapist about it to ensure you get the best out of your therapy.
Usually it will take a number of counselling sessions before therapy starts to make a difference. However on rare occasions, a single session may be enough.

I was never a believer in counselling, I lived in an emotionally abusive relationship for 20yrs and always believed it was my fault. I was pushed to go to counselling by friends and never believed it would help. But it was the best thing I ever did

Although at first I wasn’t too convinced of the benefits of counselling, I now feel extremely fortunate to have met and been counselled by my therapist. I had no idea how little I really knew myself before working through my unhelpful mindsets with my therapist.

Seeing a counsellor about my drinking probably saved my marriage and my job, not to mention my liver and my life. I hated admitting I had a problem at the time, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

I cannot over emphasise the fact that talking with someone who understands and can empathise with your untold horrors is truly liberating. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about getting help for any abuse they have suffered to seek out a counsellor they can talk to, because believe me it is better to have the story told than for it to remain locked inside you..

I always wondered what therapy would be like. Would I lie on a couch? (No). Would I cry? (Yes, sometimes). Would I feel stupid? (No). Would I feel better? (Yes, but not straight away). The best thing about it is that you can say anything, and talk about whatever you want, and you never feel judged in the slightest – only supported. It’s like there’s someone there who’s rooting for you and won’t give up on you. It’s almost like a form of unconditional love.
